A comprehensive overview of what's overhead

Flight Blight Report for House Buyers

Currently, house buyers can take advantage of numerous searches that help inform them of a property’s condition and highlight any problems that might affect the purchase price and appeal.

For the majority of people, property is likely to be one of the most expensive purchases they make and before they go ahead and buy and live in it, it’s important to gather as much information as possible.

However, one area which house buyers remain in the dark about is what’s going on in the skies above and how ‘flight blight’ might impact their enjoyment of their new home.

Whilst most issues raised in traditional home surveys are repairable, changing the flight paths over a house is not going to be possible.

When it comes to assessing the noise impact of aircraft activity over a house, viewings are unlikely to give you the full picture. Air travel is very seasonal and also varies according to month, time of day and day of the week. In addition, a number of airports also alternate their flight paths according to wind direction or to provide respite to communities most impacted by their operations.

Unfortunately, there are many examples of home buyers who have moved into their dream home, only to quickly realise that aircraft are regularly flying overhead and impacting their lives.

Around the world, air travel continues to grow in popularity and flights are predicted to increase by over 30% in the next decade, supported by airports expanding their infrastructure.

My Flight Path's Flight Blight Report contains a simple rating and a detailed analysis which will give you the full overview of what's overhead.  It is an affordable tool which processes 100 million data points and has a reach of over 190 million residential properties around the world.

It is the final piece in the jigsaw for house buyers who want to make an informed decision about whether a house is suitable for them.

Flight Blight Rating

The Flight Blight Rating is a simple score between 0-100 which is based on a complex algorithm involving the processing of over 100 million aviation data points.

The system pinpoints the location of your property and then looks at the volume of flights above it during the previous 12 months, their altitude, the type of aircraft and decibel impact.

Detailed Analysis

The Flight Blight Report also provides a detailed analysis of the information which underpins the Flight Blight Rating.

For each property, the Report shows the volume of aircraft flying over a property for each of the previous 12 months, and the day of the week and time of day.

It also breaks out the aircraft by type, including commercial and leisure aircraft, business jets, military and others, and provides indicative decibel impact at ground level.
